Cocoon
Earth meets flame
My cocoon gave me patience To grow within, To not rush the journey And to feel complete. It took no prisoners But knew I wasn't ready Not truly. It saw the rough And made me soften. It gave me time. A solitary existence - To learn, how to survive Without surviving. It knew before me When I would be ready. Like charting destiny It kept me waiting. My cocoon stood firm, It protected me - A security blanket From reality. But one day, It cracked. Layer by layer. Glimpses beyond. The world peeked, Full of colour. Beckoning, enticing And so I emerged. Each step I took Was fire on the earth. Nourishing heat, Blazing forward. Red in my wake.

Stunning piece
There’s something in this that feels like an old truth. The cocoon holding the rough edges until the fire is ready to walk the earth again. The patience, the cracking, the red in the wake… it all landed gently but deeply. Beautiful work Huihui. Its great to see you ❤️
