The Crysalis Breaks
The moment I choose - self over silence, freedom over obedience.
I woke up this morning, To a new reality I have to face, One where I move forward Without my parental anchor. They made their choices - So I must respond in kind. To protect my self To prevent further hurt. You try to reason with them, To make them understand The choices you make Are not about hurting them. Its about awakening To the version of you, That for year existed as a crysalis Now finally ready to be. But they can't see. They fear losing control, Losing the daughter they want So they guilt, they shame and blame. The me that shrunk down and accepted fault, She doesnt exist anymore. She will no longer play the role Be the girl who conforms. And so I emerge from that safety net Away from the anchor. In good times it held me up, In bad times it forced me down. My wings may be delicate and small Still growing, still blooming But I face forward, I break free And with my own set of wings I fly into the unknown.

Good for you! It takes courage to love yourself, but it's so rewarding. 💛
